Notification Settings

The notifications area is broken up into two sections; 

  • Sender notifications - email notifications specific to the sender of the document.  When enabled, the sender of the document will receive email notifications when actions are taken or not take on the document.
  • Recipient notifications - email notifications specific to the recipients.  These are the notifications each recipients will receive when they are included on a document.

Sender Notifications

Document is completeSender will receive an email once all recipients have done their part and the document status is completed.
Document is assigned to someone elseSender will receive an email when a recipient uses the Send to Someone Else action during the signing process
Document is declinedSender will receive an email when a recipient declines to approve or sign the document
Document expiresSender will receive an email when the document expires.  This notification is only triggered if the document expiration setting is enabled.
Delivery to a recipient failsSender will receive an email notification if the invitation to sign or approve did not deliver to the recipient after 5 days. Most commonly, this happens when an incorrect email is entered for a recipient.
Document reminders sentThe sender will receive a notification when a reminder is sent to a recipient.  This notification is only triggered if the reminder settings are enabled on a document.
Document not viewed in [ ] hour(s)Sender will receive a notification if the document is not viewed by a recipient, based on the value entered in the [ ].  By default this is set to 24 hours, meaning, the sender will receive a notification every 24 hours until the recipient has viewed the document.
Document not acted on in [ ] day(s)Sender will receive a notification if the document is not acted on by a recipient, based on the value entered in the [ ].  By default this is set to 3 days, meaning, the sender will receive a notification every 3 days until the recipient has completed the document.
Document viewed but not acted on in [ ] hour(s)Sender will receive a notification if the document has been viewed, but the recipient has not acted on it, based on the value entered in the [ ].  By default this is set to 48 hours, meaning, the sender will receive a notification every 48 hours until the recipient has completed the document.
Document will expire in [ ] day(s)Sender will receive an email when the document is set to expire, based on the value entered in the [ ].  This notification is only triggered if the document expiration setting is enabled.  It is meant to notify the sender prior to the document actually expiring so they can remind the recipient as needed.

Recipient Notifications

Document is delegated to meAs a recipient on a document, you'd receive a notification if one of the original recipients uses the Send to Someone Else action to assign the document to you.
I am part of a signing groupIf you are included as a recipient in a signing group, you'll receive a notification to sign or approve the document as a member of the group.
Someone in my signing group has signedIf you are included as a recipient in a signing group, you'll receive a notification if another member of a group has completed the document on behalf of the group.
When I am added on as a CC on a documentIf you are included as a Carbon Copy (CC) recipient, you'll receive an notification as soon as the document is sent.

 

Note:  There can be slight delays in the delivery of recurring email notifications. Notifications trigger every half hour. If a notification triggers in the middle of a 30 minute period, the system will wait until the next 30 minute period to send.
