Document Statuses

Each document is associated with a status as the document is created, sent and then signed, Upsign with track the status along the way.  This allows the user to easily keep track of document.  Some statuses will appear differently depending on the progress of the document and who is logged in.  For example, If I'm the sender of a document and included as one of the recipient, I'll initially see the status of Out for Signature.  When it's my turn to sign, the status will change to Waiting on Me to tell me that I need to sign the document.

  • Draft - A document that has been started but has not been sent.
  • Completed - A recipient has declined to sign or approve the document.  When no signing order is applied, a recipient can decline and the other recipients can still completed the process.  If a signing order has been applied, the document will no longer be accessible by other recipients.
  • Declined - An approver has declined the approval.  Or, one of the recipients had declined to sign the document.
  • Out for Signature - The document has been sent to one or more approver or signers and is waiting on action from one or more recipients.
  • Voided - The sender of the document has voided the document and the document is no longer available.
  • Waiting on me - Meant to show users which documents are pending action from them.
  • Expired - The document was sent to recipient with an expiration date applied in the document setting.  When the document reaches the specified days, the document is automatically voided and marked with the status of Expired.
