Make a field required

When adding fields to a document, you can choose to mark fields as required.  When marked as required, the recipient must complete that field in order to complete the signing process.

Mark a field as required

  1. Place the fields on the document
  2. Click the field you want to mark as required.  This will load the field settings for that field.
  3. Click the required toggle in the field settings

 

Example: Real Estate Purchase Contract

I'm sending a real estate purchase contract to and need the seller to fill in the address of the property. I use text fields to capture the address, state and postal code. I decide to set them as required to make sure the seller fills in those fields.
